রাজধানীর শ্যামবাজার ঘাটে জেটিতে থাকা একটি লঞ্চে আগুন লেগেছে। এমভি বাঙালি নামে লঞ্চটির তিনতলায় এ আগুন লাগে। আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ করছে ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্সের পাঁচটি ইউনিট।
মঙ্গলবার দুপুর ১২টা ৫৫ মিনিটে আগুন লাগে বলে জানান ফায়ার সার্ভিসের মিডিয়া সেলের কর্মকর্তা তালহা বিন জসিম। তিনি জানান, আগুন লাগার খবর পাওয়ার ২০ মিনিটের মধ্যে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের প্রথম ইউনিট ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে আগুন নেভাতে কাজ শুরু করে। বর্তমানে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের মোট পাঁচটি ইউনিট আগুন নেভানোর কাজ করছে। তবে আগুন লাগার প্রাথমিক কারণ জানা যায়নি।
