নানা উদ্বেগের মধ্যে ডিসেম্বর, জানুয়ারি, ফেব্রুয়ারি ও মার্চ- এই ৪ মাসে রপ্তানি পণ্য থেকে ৫ বিলিয়ন (৫০০ কোটি) ডলারের বেশি আয় হলেও এপ্রিলে তা বড় ধাক্কা খেয়েছে। নেমে এসেছে ৪ বিলিয়ন ডলারের নিচে। অন্যদিকে রেমিট্যান্স প্রবাহের গতিও বেশ খানিকটা ওঠানামা লক্ষ্য করা যাচ্ছে। সে কারণে রিজার্ভও কাঙ্ক্ষিত হারে বাড়ছে না।
রেমিট্যান্সে ভালো না করা আর হঠাৎ করে রপ্তানি আয় হোঁচট খাওয়ায় উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছেন রপ্তানিকারক ও অর্থনীতিবিদরা। তাদের মতে, এভাবে কমতে থাকলে রিজার্ভ আরও চাপের মধ্যে পড়বে।
সার্বিক রপ্তানি কমছে: দেশে দীর্ঘদিন ধরে চলছে ডলার সংকট। এক্ষেত্রে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের নেয়া কোনো উদ্যোগই কাজে আসছে না। বরং ডলার সংকট আরও প্রকট হচ্ছে। যার প্রভাবে রিজার্ভ তলানিতে নেমেছে। এই সংকট উত্তরণের অন্যতম উৎস রপ্তানি আয়। কিন্তু সেখানেও সুখবর নেই।
চলতি অর্থবছরের এপ্রিল মাসে বিদেশে পণ্য রপ্তানি থেকে আয় এসেছে ৩৯১ কোটি ৬৯ লাখ ডলার, যা আগের বছরের একই মাসের চেয়ে ০.৯৯ শতাংশ কম। শুধু প্রবৃদ্ধি ঋণাত্মক হয়েছে তা নয়, এপ্রিলে লক্ষ্যমাত্রার চেয়েও রপ্তানি পিছিয়ে আছে ১৬.৭৮ শতাংশ। এদিকে তৈরি পোশাকের রপ্তানি বাড়লেও দেশের অন্যান্য প্রধান খাতগুলোর রপ্তানি ধারাবাহিকভাবে কমছে। সংকট থেকে বের হতে পারছে না এককালের প্রধান রপ্তানি খাত পাট। এ ছাড়া হিমায়িত ও চিংড়ি মাছ, চামড়া ও চামড়াজাত পণ্য ও হোম টেক্সটাইল থেকেও রপ্তানি আয় ক্রমান্বয়ে কমছে।
