বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে (বাকৃবি) ছাত্রীর সঙ্গে আপত্তিকর অবস্থায় ধরা পড়েছেন ড. মো. শফিকুল ইসলাম। তিনি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কৃষিতত্ত্ব বিভাগের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক ও সাবেক সহকারী প্রক্টর। গত শনিবার সন্ধ্যা সাড়ে ৭টার দিকে কৃষিতত্ত্ব বিভাগীয় মাঠ ও আমবাগান এলাকা থেকে তাদের ধরেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কয়েকজন শিক্ষার্থী। পরে বিষয়টি জানানো হলে ঘটনাস্থল থেকে ওই শিক্ষার্থীকে হলে নিয়ে আসেন প্রক্টর অধ্যাপক ড. মো. আজহারুল ইসলাম।
এ সময় তৎক্ষণাত ওই শিক্ষার্থীর হলে গেলে সরজমিন দেখেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রক্টর অধ্যাপক ড. মো. আজহারুল ইসলাম ও সহযোগী ছাত্র বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক ড. আফরিনা মুস্তারি হলে এসে ওই শিক্ষার্থীকে ঘটনার বিষয়ে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করেন। পরবর্তীতে ওই শিক্ষকের সঙ্গে অনৈতিক মেলামেশার বিষয়টি স্বীকার করেন তিনি। এ সময় প্রক্টর ও সহযোগী ছাত্র বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টার উপস্থিতিতে নিজ হাতে পুরো ঘটনার একটি স্বীকারোক্তি লিখে জমা দেন তিনি। স্বীকারোক্তিতে ওই শিক্ষার্থী জানান, ভর্তির আগেই ফেসবুকের মাধ্যমে তার সঙ্গে পরিচিত হন। ভর্তির পরে ক্লাস শুরু হলে জানতে পারেন তাদের একটি ব্যবহারিক কোর্সের শিক্ষকও তিনি। মেসেঞ্জারে ওই শিক্ষকের সঙ্গে তার অনৈতিক সম্পর্ক গড়ে ওঠে। পরে শিক্ষকের নিজের গাড়িতে গাজীপুরের রিসোর্ট, মুক্তাগাছাসহ বিভিন্ন জায়গায় ঘুরতে গিয়েছেন বলেও জানান তিনি।
অধ্যাপক ড. আফরিনা মুস্তারি বলেন, ওই ছাত্রী ঘটনার ব্যাপারে নিজের স্বীকারোক্তি দিয়েছেন। ঘটনার সুষ্ঠু তদন্তের জন্য তদন্ত কমিটি গঠন করা হবে। কোনোরকম তদন্তের আগে কোনো সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া যাচ্ছে না। তদন্ত সাপেক্ষে পরবর্তীতে সকল পদক্ষেপ নেয়া হবে। এই ঘটনায় অভিযুক্ত শিক্ষক অধ্যাপক ড. শফিকুল ইসলামকে একাধিকবার মুঠোফোনে কল দেয়া হলেও তিনি কল ধরেননি।
